The goal of Canada and the New World Order is to share, discuss, and document on an intellectual fact-based and realistic level the events and nuances of the changing world order under Donald Trump’s Tariff Regime. Since I am Canadian by birth and have lived in Ontario all my life, I am interested especially in Canada’s role and position in all of this.
A Note On Comments
I welcome constructive on-topic well-thought-out comments. Emotional one-liners, on the other hand, will normally be deleted.
You’re allowed to post a simple “Thank you” if for some reason you feel moved to do so, but I have been deleting one-liners expressing hate, disgust, etc. towards whomsoever it may be, e.g. the occupier of the American Oval office. Such expressions do not belong in a formal publication such as I hope for Canada and the New World Order to be known.
How to Refer to Donald Trump
I understand that many people cannot bring themselves to spell out his name yet we have to refer to him in some way. Note my example above. There is only one “occupier of the American Oval Office,” and we all know who that is in August 2025, the date when this is being written.
In my own references to Donald Trump, I am guided somewhat by an incident that occurred at one of Mark Carney’s early press conferences. A reporter asked Carney a question that included the name “Trump.” Carney quietly instructed the reporter to say “President Trump.” The reporter corrected the question, replacing “Trump” with “President Trump.”
To me, that was instruction to project formal respect in formal situations no matter what we may personally feel.
For my publications here and on Quora I likewise insist on a level of respectability. The man, if he can be dignified as such, does not deserve it. But here’s the thing: It hurts only us—it never touches him—if we use bad language and name-call him. So here’s what I’ve been doing on Quora and what I’ve been pushing even more here.
On Quora I have identified three types of well-thought-out submissions, some of which I accept and some of which I reject:
TYPE 1: Bad Language, Offensive Trump Name-calling
I have rejected submissions that were heavy with slang, semi-bad language, and offensive name-calling for Trump. The message may have been acceptable, one that I agreed with, but I could not stomach the language.
TYPE 2: Clean Language, Disgusting Trump Name-calling
I rejected the otherwise well-written and thoughtful piece because I could not stomach the stand-in phrase chosen for Trump. It’s like serving really good soup but throwing in a little piece of poop.
TYPE 3: Clean Language, Objective & Consistent Trump Nickname
I accept the writing of the person whose content is always deep, well-thought-out and well-written. I have learned what/who is meant by “the orange shit stain,” the term they always use. That reduces the wannabe “king of the world” to a stain on underwear. I don’t like it but I can handle it.
To summarize…
Please don’t use that nickname here. I share it so you know that I do use discretion based on the surrounding content. In other words, if you cannot use that cursed name, I won’t condemn your comment outright so long as you demonstrate acceptable scholarship and respect.
